Ahmad Mammadli

Ahmad Mammadli is the found of Yoldash Media, a digital media platform that documents labor rights violations and political repression in Azerbaijan.

Allegedly, on the evening of May 7, Mammadli shared a taxi cab with two plainclothes police officers who began beating him. They then took him to an unmarked car, continued beating him, and shocked him with an unknown weapon when he refused to provide his phone’s password. He was subsequently ordered to be held in pre-trial detention on hooliganism charges. If convicted, he faces up to 11 years in prison.
